Metallurgy: Quenched & Tempered Alloy
The sudden release of accumulator pressure into the cylinder creates a shockwave comparable to an explosion. Standard steels would deform or fracture. In deepwater, external hydrostatic pressure tries to force seawater past the rod seals. If the rod surface is pitted, water ingress is inevitable. Anti-Extrusion Sealing Matrix
