Rugged Welded Through-Hole Hydraulic Cylinder

EVER POWER through-hole cylinders — extreme side-load resistant, tight-space mounting, fully OEM custom. Get your spec.

Rugged Welded Through-Hole Hydraulic Cylinder

Der welded through-hole hydraulic cylinder — also known as a side-lug or through-bolt mounting cylinder — provides the most secure attachment solution in applications where both lateral stability and compact envelope are critical. EVER POWER's through-hole design routes mounting bolts through precision-drilled bosses welded to the barrel, distributing mounting forces uniformly around the cylinder body. This eliminates mounting bracket weld stress concentrations and allows installation in confined structural cavities where flange or clevis mounts are impractical. Available in bore sizes from 1.5” to 18” at working pressures up to 4,500 PSI, this cylinder is engineered for construction equipment, marine deck machinery, and industrial automation.

Anwendungsszenarien

Marine Deck Machinery

Hatch cover actuators and anchor windlass cylinders must be bolted directly into structural steel cavities. Through-hole mounting is the only viable solution in these spaces.

Rail & Vehicle Door Systems

Concealed door-panel installation in rolling stock requires compact through-bolt mounting to avoid bracket protrusion into passenger space.

Industrial Automation Gates

Safety gate and barrier actuation systems benefit from the side-lug design's resistance to vibration-induced loosening under cyclic loading.

EVER POWER Manufacturing

EVER POWER's through-hole cylinder program provides full flexibility in boss position, bolt diameter, and boss protrusion height — parameters critical to achieving a flush installation in structural cavities. Our 60,000 m² facility includes dedicated boss-welding fixtures that hold positional tolerance to ±0.5 mm relative to the cylinder axis, ensuring bolt-hole alignment without field shimming. Custom epoxy coatings rated to 1,000 hours salt-spray (ASTM B117) are available for marine and offshore environments. With ISO 9001:2015 certification and 3,000+ global project deliveries, EVER POWER has the track record to support your most demanding through-hole cylinder requirements.

  • Boss position tolerance: ±0.5 mm to cylinder axis
  • Salt-spray rated epoxy topcoat available
  • Custom bolt diameter and protrusion height
  • Marine and offshore configuration expertise

Customer Reviews

“Installing these through-hole cylinders into our hatch actuator frames was completely straightforward. The boss alignment was spot on — no adjustment needed at all.”

— Systems Engineer, Offshore Deck Equipment Supplier, Norway

“The 1,000-hour salt-spray coating option gave us exactly what we needed for our coastal rail installation. Two years in service, zero corrosion.”

— Project Engineer, Rolling Stock Manufacturer, UK

Häufig gestellte Fragen

Q: Can the mounting boss position be located at mid-stroke instead of at the end caps?

A: Yes. Mid-barrel boss placement is a standard custom option. Provide your required boss-to-rod-end distance on your inquiry and our engineers will confirm structural feasibility.

Q: What is the difference between a through-hole cylinder and a flange-mount cylinder?

A: A flange mount requires an external bracket surface for bolting. A through-hole design integrates mounting boss holes directly into the cylinder barrel, enabling installation inside structural cavities where no external bracket surface is available.

Q: Is a DLC (diamond-like carbon) rod coating available for corrosive environments?

A: Yes. DLC rod coating is available as a chrome-free alternative for applications with chemical exposure or where environmental regulations prohibit hexavalent chromium plating.

Q: What is the minimum order for a custom through-hole configuration?

A: We accept prototype orders from 1 unit. Tooling costs are amortized over the first production batch. Contact our engineering team for a no-obligation discussion of your project requirements.
